CASPSLaP 2022

The eighth biennial conference on Current Approaches to Spanish and Portuguese Second Language Phonology (CASPSLaP) will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison February 17-19, 2022. CASPSLaP brings together leading experts in the field of the second language acquisition (SLA) of Spanish and Portuguese pronunciation. The presentations will include a wide range of topics. By focusing on the breadth of approaches currently taken by scholars researching the SLA of Spanish and Portuguese phonology, this conference aims to present the state-of-the-art in second language phonological acquisition.

In addition to the general session, the conference will feature two special sessions, one on L3 Phonology and the other on Empirical Outcomes of Explicit Pronunciation Instruction. There will also be a poster session, as well as an interactive, pedagogy-focused session called Ignite that addresses best practices in classroom pronunciation instruction.
